I'm trying to decide if I should go with an Intel Core i5 4690k or an i5 3570k. My Mobo is an LGA 1155 socket so if I chose the 4690k, I would need to upgrade my motherboard as well. I need help deciding if it is worth it.
My current setup:
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI 4 x SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX
CPU: Intel Pentium G870 Sandy Bridge Dual-Core 3.1GHz LGA 1155 65W BX80623G870
Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Video: EVGA SuperClocked 02G-P4-2662-KR G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 660 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16
PSU: CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE
HDD: Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5"
I don't mind spending more money if it is actually worth it, but I'm not sure if I will notice a performance increase in games like CS:GO, Diablo III, SCII, WoW, etc. According to the hierarchy chart on here http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106-5.html, they are in the same category of performance. Any help would be appreciated!
EDIT: also I prefer not to overclock my CPUs, if possible.
