External DVD Drive that reads fast

I just bought a few external SSD drives and want to copy all of my dvd backups to them(about 400 dvds of various files) mostly uncomressed videos. What would be the fastest external drive for this? I plan on daisy chaining them into a hub to copy a few at a time, if that helps. 3.0 hub

This should be the best one to get, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA0ZX2C39071&cm_re=usb3_dvd-_-27-135-311-_-Product and it will get you a BluRay player to boot, although it's 3 times the price of just a regular DVD player. What I like is that it's a regular drive and not a laptop size one, which should have a bit more sturdiness for clicking all those disks in and out.

I had an eye opening experience with my new BR drive, a Panasonic, it starts reading 6x from my burnt DVD, then lo&behold at EXACTLY 50%, half way through the disc, it slows down to 1x! <gasp> This was a Double Layer DVD so am thinking when it hits the other layer, BAM! it can't handle it. Factory DVD reads normal throughout.

With that many DVD, may wanna think of outsourcing that job, it's just copying stuff so it should not be that expensive.
