I not so recently built a PC.Back then in winters it would run fine but now in summers thermal paste evaporated, tempratures shoot up AND my ceiling fan needs repair(we will talk about that some other day).Basically maiking it necessary to install fans/new aftermarket cpu cooler.Expect the max room temp to be around 40 degrees celsius

My PC specs are as follows
Case: CM elite 431+
Power sucking unit: CM thunder 600w
MoBo: asus M5A97 R 2.0
GPU: asus r9 280
ram :hyperx 1866 8gbx1
Edit: forgot processor: fx8350

Total budget: indian rupees 5000( Had to skip GTA 5,anything left would go towards arkham city)

Current cooling setup:

Chinese .8 dollar fan(mainly bought it for the SCREWS),setup up as bottom intake
A sunon 80mm(which I am proud of) setup up as rear intake(needed screws for this)
Stock heatsink for CPU(loud)
Stock intake fan for front tht comes with case(which sucks imo)

Requirements:
1.Case fan/cpu cooler(I just need sufficient cooling at minimum price for stock or maybe 4.3ghz).If possible avoid LED fans
2.Recommend a fan flow setup.

Oh btw what is difference b/w fan and exhaust?
Thermal paste extra(will but arctic 5)

Edit: its a gaming PC

Hello aksgarg,

Your system is great there is nothing to be ashamed of. there are ppl with lower components but they make the best of it.
Im afraid that you have to move to liquid cooling for your CPU @ 4ghz + and that to bigger ones coz of the room temperature is around 30-40 and if you dont want to raise the CPU temp above 50-55. BUT if you are looking for air cooler then let me give you quick guide:

Fans are either 1. Static Pressure (SP) and Airflow Models (AF) 2. Size: 120mm, 140mm, 80mm 3. PMW or not: PMW fans allows you to control fan speeds but any other non PMW fans can also change via Mobo connectors.. Then you have leds, whether the ends are rubbered for sound absorption and other funky gismose. IF you are looking for quite...

Hello aksgarg,

Then you have leds, whether the ends are rubbered for sound absorption and other funky gismose. IF you are looking for quite fans then they will cost more but they actually to the job because all they have is rubber ends and rubber screws but if you can find these features in cheaper ones go for it. You can also purchase rubber screws for fan seprately.

For the front: get SP 120mm or 140mm(if u can afford this)
For Exhaust: Again get 120mm SP
For CPU : if you can afford LC 120mm x 1 or 120mm x2 (make sure of the socket size before geting 1) go for it of else get Cooler Master Hyper EVO http://www.primeabgb.com/accessories/cpu-cooler.html

Cover the top 2 intakes and remove the button one coz it absorbs lot more dust than the side fans and you have SP fan on the side already which brings in the air. Now you have intake and exhaust both with static pressure, porper air flow and they exchange a good volume of fresh air and exhaust air outside going through the CPU cooler. Also make sure to keep distance between the back of the pc to the wall a minimum distance is the size of your hand from palm to the index finger.
I ahve also noticed that your Mobo supports 3 chassis fan. You can connect all three fans and setup a profile through Asus Suit software which comes with it. This software will also allow you to setup the speed you desire should a fan runs noisy.

I hope this helps :)

Oh I wanted to ask are corsair af fans good? I can get 120 mm performance edition.quite edition without LED are not available
For 140 mm I can get noctua fan but how do I identify which fan is SP and which is AF for noctua? they don't write SP and AF

And is cooler master 212x/evo good at my room temprature if I don't buy cooling fans or I need to buy fans as well -_-

Why do I need water cooler above 4 ghz? tht is stock speed of 8350(is it because of temprature?)

What do you think about antec for fans? they are cheap here, bitfenix is cheap too

Another question: noctua nh L12 without new fans or cooler master hyper 212x with new fans?

Hello again,

Close your eyes and get Cooler MAster Hyper EVo 212. I have the same cooler on my CPU with 4GHz + and it never goes above 50degrees (room temp aprox 25-30) its a great cooler.

Ok to make the difference between SP and AF are the BLADES, that fat ones are SP, sucking more air hence more noise, and fans with thin blades are AF normal air flow and less noisy those are mostly "silent edition" ones. Antec and Bitefenix and good fans too.

Let me know your final decision on fans, put the links.

Hello Askgard,

Good choice. However you can drop the Arctic paste, the CPU cooler comes with it so dont worry about it coz its a good quality. Also before you install the CPU cooler just go to youtube and watch how its done, type in "Cooler master EVO 2121 installing" and ur good to perrfom the operation. If any trouble again, let me know here i'll be glad to help you make the decision.

:)
