I had windows 7 ultimate running on my machine, I wanted to multiboot with Windows 8 pro . As I started windows 8 pro setup , throughout the process it didn't ask for destination (or drive) to install new window on, it simply goes on & after the completion, I figured out it installed on the c drive on which I had Windows 7.

I believe it can be rolled back could you help me getting it.

Hi rdg1101
thanks for reply.

I had windows 7 running earlier. I wanted multi-boot by PC by installing window 8 on the other drive.
when I started windows 8.1 setup it installd without asking the destination for install and installed on system drive (C drive).
The new OS is windows 8.1 Pro.

which installation type did you choose while installing (typical or custom)
it will upgrade if you had selected typical and there would hv been 2 OS if you had gone for custom and selected a diff drive or the same C drive without formatting

thanks Shivababbli for replying.
As far as I can remember it was a typical installation (not custom), and I opted for " keeping files" option during installation.
What I want is to install win7 again so I can keep win7 as it is and install win8 to another dedicated drive. (i.e.; C drive for win7, and D drive for win8.

is that possible to get win7 on C drive again, since I was downloading files in Torrent Client which wasn't completed. So I want to save that data and finish those partially downloaded files.

for torrent files you can try to download the exact files and give te old location, it will hel in completing the partial files(it will continue from where it has stopped)
to get win7 you need to format it back and lose all the programs and torrents from c drive
