I need some advice on a motherboard choice for Daw use. I have an i7 4790k, 8gb 1600mhz cas 9 ram and an Rme PCIe audio interface. Os and programs will be on a 250gb samsung ssd and a 1tb 7200rpm hdd will be used for everything else

Research tells me that Daw's are all about quality audio interfaces with low latencies etc and that motherboards shouldn't have too much of an impact as long as the audio inteface is sorted.

My budget is £120. More if needed. Is this enough for a quality board for a daw?

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you

Avoid motherboards with onboard/integrated wireless internet adapters. Go with a wired connection or a discreet wireless card. Other than that, you are correct about the motherboard not really being an impact. DAWs I've worked on used an external DAC for recording and playback. You could use the integrated audio on your motherboard for some non-critical playback or as a confidence monitor also. Use ASIO drivers whenever possible.
