graphics card is seen as Microsoft Basic Display Adapter

my Amd R9 290 is seen as Microsoft Basic Display Adapter on msi afterburner and on gpu z.

When i try to open Amd catalyst control center it says there are no settings that can be configured.

ive just reset my pc back to factory settings.

ive upgraded to 15.4 beta drivers and that didn't work so i downgrade to 14.12 and there was no difference.

on GPU z it tells me the specs but says Microsoft Basic Display Adapter

has it ever worked?
What Operating system are you using? If it is Windows 7 was it part of a prebuilt PC and does it have SP1?

-that's because you don't have the cards driver installed that Microsoft Basic Display Adapter is built into windows to have ''all' cards display with out a driver installed .. with out that you would not be able to display to desktop in order to install drivers or anything .. just a blank screen
what are you running anyway ?? [system specs]
also beta drivers theres no guarantee they will work that's why there beta

hey Im having the same problem. But I can access my desktop through safe mode.
How do I fix that problem?

Do you know what your Graphics Card is?

If you do, and have a disk, boot into safe mode and install the drivers.

Yes I already installed the drivers for my integrated GPU. Nvidia Geforce 6150SE NForce 430
I dont have the CD's. Can I download it in the internet?

BTW when I boot it normally the screen resolution came back to 1920x1080 BUT still a blank screen and I can only see the desktop(Icons and Taskbar) through safe mode. What is my computers problem?
HP Compaq dx2355 bussness PC can you link it please?
