Help with power supply cables

Solution
I have to assume you got fully modular PSU. PSUs should ALWAYS come with cables. The reason is every manufacturer (and many times different models of the same manufacturer) have different pin-outs, and they are not interchangeable (you'll fry equipment!). You must get cables made specifically for the model PSU you obtained. Anyone selling a PSU on eBay without the cables deserves to have an immediate return at their cost. It is not reasonable...it would like selling a car without the tires- really. It will be a real pain to try to locate the cables you need (and twice the cost probably), so again I recommend that you return that PSU (with a complaint), and get one with the cables included.

is that the psu bought? check the ebay listing to make sure it was psu and cables, check the small print, might have gotten it cheap as the person who owned it wasn't selling the cables, or they may have forgotten to pack them in the post

ya try and return it, as previously mentioned it is just a nice paper weight without those cables, the only thing is with it being advertised as no cables you may not be able to return it through ebays terms so depends if the seller is a nice guy or not

I was about to say the same thing.. if the product was listed as being without cables.. then there was no deception on the seller's part. Your best bet would be to write down the name and model # and do a search for:

<Name> <Model #> cables

You might be able to find cables that way... if all else fails, you'll have to buy another unit.

shoot the seller a nicely worded email, he might get that you were excited and didn't read the fine print and let you return it, I guess this is a new chapter on don't go cheap on the psu though :p

1hdd
2 ssd
Gtx 970

The smart thing to do would be to find the model of your PSU and search for it at the website of the manufacturer to see exactly which cables it comes with and try to match that. You'll need extra cables for future expansion as well as for your CPU and motherboard, fans...

I would add up the price and compare it to how much more it would cost to just buy a brand new unit with a good warranty. It would be really messed up if you spent all this extra money and the PSU turned out to be a dud.
