Yeah, seems a little odd that your performance is so low with a 270x, you should be able to get at least mid-level graphics settings with it. I see a lot of reviews online that say a GTX 770 would allow max details, and that card would get you some decent life. I can't imagine your CPU is limiting the game that much, but stranger things have happened.

When we're talking "higher" settings, are we talking about trying to max out, maybe 1 level up? Enabling FSAA / MSAA / AF?

Something's definitely not right. At 640 x 480 you're not even hitting the GPU, that's all CPU pretty much at that point. Did you ensure that your onboard graphics are disabled in BIOS? If not, turn them off so that you're isolating the dedicated GPU and make sure you eliminate every trace of drivers related to the onboard graphics.

After that, flush your drivers and reinstall the latest Catalyst drivers to see if performance improves. If you still have to run that low, then there's a problem with your GPU.

The fact you bought it used off a guy scares me. I bought two used off ebay for 220 dollars, and all I had to do was flash the bios for an annoying issue to be fixed, but I feel that I got lucky. I'd also look to see if there is a bios flash for your particular card. What model do you have or brand?

wow not to sound stupid but i have no clue what your talking about. i just bought the computer to play games. could you explain how to disable the bios and flush the drivers i just took it to a computer place and payed 75 to wipe the virus i got because of some person on steam community told me to download something to check my heat settings and it was a trovi virus he was from india and tried hacking my computer. So there's nothing on the computer but steam and 4 games.
