I would like to start streaming some SMITE but I tried it once and I was getting pretty bad FPS in stream and I didn't really look into it that much. Now I really want to get into it and was wondering what effects quality and FPS in streaming.

I currently have:
GTX 660
AMD FX-4300
650w PSU
8 gb of ram

Solution
There are a couple ways to go about this. I think the best way is to run a cpu/gpu monitoring software while trying to stream and see what is running at 100% usage. Besides that if I were to guess I would say your most likely issue is your CPU not being able to handle the load or your internet does not have the upload bandwith to handle the resolution you are trying to run. The easier way to fix might be to install Nvidia Shadow play. Shadow play is a newer program released by nvida that offloads all streaming/game recording from the CPU to the GPU. This would remove the cpu bottleneck. In addition it has a built in ability to stream directly to twitch in a lower bandwith compression code that would remove the upload bottleneck.

I agree but specifically 5mbs "Upload" because you are sending this video out to internet not "Downloading" like a youtube video. Most cable internet connections have much higher download then upload speed like my charter connection is 65 mbps download and only 3.5 mbps upload. Keep in mind also that if anyone on your network is uploading something or torrenting etc that they will also be eating into your upload speed. IF that is the issue you can set up QOS (routing priority) on your network router to either limit others from using to much upstream or by setting the streaming service as a higher priority then other network traffic

(warning if you change QOS you also need to make sure your game is the highest priority traffic over the the streaming service or you might get lag spikes)

I am thinking of getting a new CPU because recently I got this new GPU and I try to run my games at the Geforce Exp optimal settings but they still don't run that well and I have a feeling its my CPU.

I have used to shadowplay but not for streaming, I will try it. Thanks!
