No, save the 25 dollars. You did just fine. Unless you want to overclock(4690k), it isn't worth spending over 200 dollars for an i5. So the only two i5's to buy really, are the 4460 and 4690k. Sounds like you bought the earlier version of the 4460, so it's just fine.
You should be fine - it's really just a clock speed difference. 10% difference or so between them, performance-wise. You'll do some things a tiny bit slower and in gaming, you'll find that it's your GPU that's more limiting than the CPU.
only i5 I would buy is the i5 4440. For the price of 4690k, you can easily get an Xeon 1231, which pretty much an i7 for hell lot cheaper. And the only i7s i would buy are the 4790k, and 5820k.
