Hello.

This is my first computer build ive done. I got it up and working when i realized i forgot the case fans so shut down the computer. Unplugged my power cable and then plugged my case fans into the PSU. My computer then wouldn't even start past a flicker of maybe half a second. So naturally I unplug my case fans thinking it'll be fine. Now for some reason my computer wont even show video. Ive tried HDMI, DVI, different monitors along with unplugging my GPU and trying simply integrated graphics. The issue persists throughout. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also may help to mention that it cycles through powering on and off by itself. On one minute and off for a few seconds repeating endlessly.

UPDATE: So i ended up taking my build to microcenter where they diagnosed it as a fried motherboard. So i got a new one and am actually typing from that computer right now. SO

Problem Solved

1. check the ram. ensure that it is placed well.
2. check the cpu. If you have installed the cpu after removing the socket cover, then you have done a great mistake. Uninstall the cpu. place the socket cover back to its place, then install the cpu, the cover will automatically come out. then remove the cover and install the heatsink.

This solution should work as i also faced it several times

Try this! Shut down your computer and flip the power switch on the back of the power supply at the bottom of your computer so it is completely turned off and unplug the cord from the wall. Once this has been done ground yourself (easiest way is to place your hand on your computer case if it is metal) and hold the power button on your computer so the remaining power in the PC drains out. Plug your cable back inside and flip the switch and turn on the PC. I always recommend performing this test before anything.

I let the socket cover remove itself so that could not be it.

Did you check the power connection of your graphics card?......Please ensure that your gpu is getting sufficient power supply......If you are using a non-branded power supply, then I highly recommend to change the psu with a corsair, thermaltake or cooler master PSU. As per my experience, this problem is most probably related to your cpu or ram. Replace the cpu and ram, if possible get another ram and cpu...........One more thing that I would like mention that there are a lots of small pins under the cpu. If any one of them is bended, the problem will occur. If that doesn't work..................give me sometime to think.
