Which RAM to chose?

Purpose:
1. Gaming
2. Programming

Capacity: 2x8GB (Dual Channel)
Base speed: 1600 MHz
Overclocking: Moderate (Not interested in RAM overclocking, that much)
CPU cooler (future): CM Hyper 212X
Price: Low as possible, but not wanting much loss in performance
XMP: Preffered

Look at my Sign for my current specs

The Corsair is XMP,the HyperX Fury is PnP.

It's better to get two sticks in one set, they are sure to work together. It should be possible to add a stick to one that is already there, but they mighht not work together after all, even when from the same manufacturer, model, speed etc.

Is XMP necessary for simplicity?

I don't know.I don't think it really matters, with either do you need to adjust the settings manually anyway.
With the lowest timings do you have more room to play with so the one with the lowest timings is possibly the best option.
You just want to play around? I don't know what the pc is for,but for performance is there probably not a lot to gain.
