Overclocking AMD FX-4100 3.6Ghz

I am pretty much a noob when it comes to overclocking, i never done it before.

So i want to try and overclock my AMD FX-4100 since its a pretty old processor, but i want to be sure whether i can overclock it, how much i can overclock it so i dont burn my whole computer down.

Processor: AMD FX-4100
Motherboard: gigabyte GA-970A-D3
Graphics Card: Nvidia geforce GTX 550 Ti GE 1Gb ram

I am allso not sure how to do stability test, how much volts should i put in my processor.
And do i need any extra coollers?

One concern I have though is that D3 board. If you look at the picture here:

There's no cooling on the VRM. And it's a 4+1 phase VRM. So don't go crazy with your overclock. You might be able to find info on an inexpensive VRM heatsink by Enzotech or Thermalright by reading here:
