My new z97 extreme6 refuses to power on when one of my R290s is installed, but works fine with a different R290. When trying to power on, the PSU (LEPA G1600W) makes a clicking noise as though it is detecting a short. I have tried both GPUs in both PCI slots, the other GPU works in both.
Both the GPUs are from a previous build, and worked fine. The one that isn't working is an Asus DirectCU II if that makes any difference.
I read elsewhere that this may be solved by changing a uefi setting, but it was not specified which, any ideas?
