For todays gaming needs? i can get a 770 for around 180 now, coming from a 270x. I could get a gtx 970 but id rather not spend all that cash.

The 8350 should be fine with some overclocking, you can use that money towards a 970 and a aftermarket cooler for your CPU if you don't have one.

If you playing at 1080p or even 1440p on a lot of games, the 770 still kicks ass. I just upgraded from a 770 to a 980 and so far on 1440p, I'm getting more frames, but it aint night and day different. As far as 2 gigs of ram goes, even on 1440p, I rarely got close to that amount on the 770

for now i would leave it alone and grab a 970 and when you can save up enough and grab a i5 4690. you should be ok for awhile with your 8350

You definitely don't need a CPU upgrade from an 8350 right now. The graphics upgrade would improve your gaming experience much more significantly.

What if I were to say I could return my 8350 and mobo, and I'd get a i5 4690k and mobo for $55 more than was the other set cost me. Worth it?

Or should I just keep what I got since I don't really play a lot of games to Begin with
