I'm looking to buy a new case, specifically the Fractal Design Node 804, or the Corsair Air 240. My problem is it only takes micro and mini itx boards, while I currently have an ATX motherboard and it won't fit. Anyways I'm struggling to find a good micro ATX board to fit the case that is socket am3+ with a deceg amount of features. I need an optical connection for sure but I just want to know what are some good mobos.

The GA-78LMT-USB3 is a decent low-budget motherboard -- you will not, however, OC beyond 4.1- to 4.2GHz.
There is an SPDIF header on the mainboard -- a bracket with an optical-out will run you around $15.
