Hello,

I have an opportunity to buy this:http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/specs/macbook-pro-core-i7-2.2-15-late-2011-unibody-thunderbolt-specs.html for $800 (oh, it's the 4GB RAM model). Is it a good deal? I will be using it for Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC, Dreamweaver CC, Filezilla and native programs like Garageband. Everyone in my office uses a Mac except me. I have an old Dell Latitude Core 2 Duo that I use and it is really showing its age.

They will not buy me a Mac. So instead of raking out the cash to buy a brand new one, I looked on Craigslist. I know, I have to be careful on Craigslist, but I am going to go check it out before I purchase it. Let's say, for the sake of argument, that everything is good to go. Is that machine still good, even though it is almost 4 years old?

Thanks in advance for your help!

It's still a good machine, after upgrading the RAM to 8Gig and (possibly) fitting an SSD it would be pretty impressive (I still love mine); would be worth $800 if the battery was in good order and it came with some form or warranty; if there isn't any form of warranty I'd be very cautious.

If you do go for it, make sure you get some form of receipt/documentation; Apples can be remotely locked/wiped, so you could end-up with an expensive brick.
