I have a problem with my hard drive. It is an hdd. It has 140 gigabytes. It says approx 130 gigabytes are full but when I look in the folders it only takes up around 80 gigabytes. I have run a CCleaner and the defragmentation of windows runs every week so I don't know what to do.

Thanks in advance

WinDirStat can help locate this stuff. Running that, you might see two very large 'files'
Page file and hiberfil.sys

Hibernation, you can turn off:
Turn it off here - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/819-hibernate-enable-disable.html

Pagefile - Reduce it to 1GB or so.

Find your System Restore settings, and see what that is set to.
Control Panel
System
System Protection
System Protection
Click on the relevant drive, and select Configure

It will show you current usage and Max use %

Eximo

Folder Options -> Show hidden files and folders

Most common:
pagefile.sys virtual memory. Low priority data and/or when system memory capacity is exceeded (usually 1.5-2 times system memory)
Hiberfil.sys basically a backup of what is currently in memory for hibernate and sleep modes (usually the size of the system and virtual memory combined)

On OEM computers you can also have hidden partitions used for system recovery (OS reinstallation) (Likely your drive size is actually 160GB with 10GB reserved.)
