Since upgrading from 4GB of RAM to 8GB, I've been having trouble with free space on my C:\ drive. I hadn't made the partition big enough for 8GB of RAM, back when i installed windows. And now that i have so much going on, I can't re-install windows either. At least, that's a last resort.

How can I manage the paging file, so it takes up the absolute minimum of space? Can i disable it completely (probably a stupid question)? Can I relocate it to a different drive with more storage? I only have 1.5GB of free space on C:\. The other drives have on average 40+GB of free space.

Because, among other problems, I don't have enough space for the games i'm playing and all their save files. Also chrome can't load thumbnails on youtube because there isn't enough free space on C:\.

Solution
40GB is too small for the C drive.

But yes...reducing it is no problem. Mine has been like that for a couple of years with zero problems.
