Hi.
I have recently installed a new CPU that I got because of boot issues with the previous one. Now I am experiencing random shutdowns. Sometimes it is more frequent than other times. I do remember experiencing this before with my old cpu but I never managed to solve the issue. Also, Whenever the system does shutdown randomly, I see the power switch on my motherboard glowing, this means that the board is still receiving some power. Pushing the power button directly after the shutdown does nothing. In order to restart my system I have to unplug the power supply and wait for the excess power to drain from my motherboard before I restart. I am really confused as to what could be causing this. I have checked all my connectors and they are seated properly. For the loose connectors I have made sure that nothing is shorting them out, but still my system continues to shutdown randomly. I also have not overlocked my system. If anyone could give me advice to solve this problem, it would be greatly appreciated. I have listed my system specs bellow. Thanks a lot to anyone who can help!

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Specs
-Asus Z87-Pro Motherboard
-Intel i5-4670K, water-cooled with Corsair H100i
-Seasonic X-Series 750 watt power supply
-MSI GTX 660 graphics card

Do the shutdowns only happen when you play games, or do they happen at random even when no games are loaded?

Describe what you see when the "shutdown" happens in more detail. Does the monitor go black? Or does it just freeze. Or what?

My computer completely shuts down at random times. The fans go off, and my system is powered off. It happens sometimes when im playing games or just when it is doing nothing. I stress-tested my system but it only shutdown 5 mins after i stopped the stress testing. This was when the system was not doing anything. My cpu temps are also not an issue.

This could really be a lot of things. But I am beginning to suspect your power supply. Normally, things that cause shutdowns are related to heat. But in this case, the shutdowns are even happening with the system sitting idle for awhile. And a power supply that is defective can do that.

The fact that this is intermittent is going to make it very difficult to track down. What I would do if I was having this problem would be to call Seasonic, and ask them for assistance, or just buy another power supply and replace the one you have now, and see if the problem continues with the new power supply.

Oh okay. I am going to email Seasonic and ask for their assistance. If necessary i will proceed with RMA to get a new power supply. I will update you with more information as I get it.

Hey guys.

I have some really bad news. My computer doesn't turn on anymore. When I press the motherboard power button fans spin for a second but then turn off immediately. I am sure that this is a motherboard issue. I don't think that my power supply is causing this. Should I contact Asus for an RMA? or what?
