Looking to purchase a 6 core i7-5930K 3.5GHz and I've heard it can be OC'd at around 4.5GHz. If I do overclock it to such a speed, will air cooling do? If so, what cooler should I get?
No you dont have to a high end air cooler will do it also, like the Noctua NH-D-15 Or Phanteks TC-14PE. Or you can use AIO liquid coolers like the H105, H100i GTX etc

Bear in mind that every cpu is unique, 4.5Ghz isnt guaranteed. Some can manage it without needing too much voltage (and therfore not getting as hot), others can require a lot of voltage which will make a lot more heat.
