Hello all,

I bought two sticks of RAM yesterday, DDR3 and 4 gb each, so 8 gb total. I tried installing both on my motherboard: an Asus B85M-G (C2).

Upon first external bootup, everything worked fine, yet my pc only recognized one stick of memory. I then took out the other stick, and tried one on each slot. One of the two sticks worked every time on all slots, yet the other one didn't work on any slot... :( So I came to the conclusion that perhaps this stick is defect.

Btw, those RAM's are Crucial Ballistix Tactical's, with 1600 speed, and brand new.

I'm about to send the kit back and get myself a new pair, but perhaps something else might be causing this problem? It doesn't seem logical though.

Thanks guys!

- edit - worth mentioning that this is a new assembled pc, yet I did update the chipset of my motherboard.
