Powerline Speed Issues

I've recently moved my PC to a different room in my house, not close to the router. Before this I was using a direct ethernet connection from the router with speeds of 100mb/s Down and 8mb/s up. I've recently started using powerline in the new location and have been experiencing issues with speeds. My download speed has dropped to between 1 and 8mb/s but my upload has only dropped to about 5. I'm using a pair of tp-link AV200s which should be able to provide more than 10mb/s. Does anyone know what the problem is and how to solve it?

Are they both plugged directly into the wall (not a power strip)? This article is kind of old -- but since it is geared to 200Mb units it is relevant. Here is an updated article. You still shouldn't expect more than 50Mb/s ...

The quality of your house wiring and how each room is linked to your circuit breaker can also have a big impact. Ideally you want them on the same loop.

if your internal wiring is old and you're not using the homeplugs on a ring main then you are going to have big issues.

As far as a Wi-Fi equally shares its all available acquired speed,more devices in the house means lower speed for each of them.This might be a cause.
Or the old bad oriented wires.
