Hi,
I currently run 2x4GB G.Skill Ripjaws X Series with Specs:
DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900)
Timing 9-10-9-28
Cas Latency 9
Voltage 1.5V
I want to mix with Crucial Ballistix Sports XT 8 GB with Specs:
DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900)
Cas Latency 10
Voltage 1.5V
I just want to know if it would ruin the ram sticks if I mix. Im okay with it being slightly slower since all I need is the 16GB to run a small Minecraft server.

I could get it to boot up with the 8gb and 4 Gb stick on channels 1 and 3. Works fine with 12 GB but cant get it to boot with both 4 GB's. I am using automatic ram settings from my bios. If it cant work I'll settle for 12 GB. How can I check if its stable?

I got it to boot with 16 GB. I had to put the two 4 GBs in the Dual channels 1 and 3 with the 8 GB at Channel 2. How should I adjust the latency using Bios? 2x4GB G.Skill Ripjaws X Series with Specs:
DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900)
Timing 9-10-9-28
Cas Latency 9
Voltage 1.5V
Crucial Ballistix Sports XT 8 GB with Specs:
DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900)
Cas Latency 10
Voltage 1.5V

You didn't mention in your original post the 8 GB was a single module. Why didn't you buy a 16 GB kit and sell the 2 x 4 GB kit?

What are the specs of the 8 GB module at 1600 MHz (you can use CPU-Z to check it)? Set the memory configuration to manual mode (or whatever its caled in the BIOS) and use the highest timings as per CPU-Z; another solution if not stable is to increase voltage a bit, but don't exceed 1.6 V. Run Memtest86+ and Windows memory diagnostics for several hours to make sure there are no memory errors.
