Hi, I have 2 computers. One of them has an AMD Athlon 64 processor (Not 64 Bit) and the other one has an Intel Core 2 Duo. They both are Dell Dimensions and have 2 GB of RAM. I want to use the better performance one for light web browsing and YouTube. Which one is better? Or which one would you use? i was thinking about keeping Windows XP on there, or upgrade to Windows Vista or Windows 7. Maybe even Windows 8 just to see. Thanks!

Oh, an X2. That is also a dual core. See the difference the name makes ;-) Ignore the previous link I sent. That was for the Athlon 64, not the Athlon 64 X2.
The C2D also has a huge family. Depending on what model it is, it may be weaker or stronger than the Athlon 64 X2. But it is for sure newer and probably later tech.
C2D: http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_2/TYPE-Core%202%20Duo.html (scroll down the list)
Athlon 64 X2: http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K8/TYPE-Athlon%2064%20X2.html (scroll down the list)

If these are in working pC's you can pull up the exact name with CPU-Z

Well, the Intel Core 2 Duo, I think that is one model. But that AMD one, I'm not sure. I looked at the computer sticker and it says AMD Athlon 64 X2. How does this processor stand against an Intel Core 2 Duo?
