I have a prebuilt PC that was gifted to me a few years ago, and I would like to add a graphics card to it because even Win7 Aero is sluggish. Please help me choose the right graphics card that is compatible, and has atleast 2GB of graphics memory. I think NVidia is preferred..
Thanks in advance, I hope I didn't sound rude..Just wanted to keep it as short as possible.

PC Specs: Compaq Presario CQ3270IX
Foxconn Eton Motherboard
Intel Core2Duo E7500 @ 2.93Ghz
3 GB of RAM (Max. 4 GB, willing to upgrade)
Some random 450W PSU (My dad upgraded it)

"I think NVidia is preferred"

...

Okay, it sounds to me like you are repeating what someone else told you or you read there. Why do you think NVidia is preferred? :p

How much $$ you willing to spend up to, and what games do you play.

Well, obviously I'm not as dumb as I sound :D...I'm capable of building a full blown PC:ange: with the newer chipsets and specs as I don't have to worry about bottlenecks because of the great improvements in the number of lanes.......I live in India and I don't mind a bottleneck in speed because this computer doesn't have PCIEx16 v.2...but other bottlenecks do matter....I need a card that'll do the job somewhere about INR 3500/-:p....here's an indian shopping website to help...and I'm not repeating what someone else told me...I've had Raedon graphics on laptops and frankly, the drivers are hell...I want a no-hassle, no bloatware setup with the only bottleneck I don't care about being the speed(to a certain extent).

I'm just an amateur who's not done much with older PC's....but you're "Graphics card expert" - according to tomshardware.....I need your help. Amateurs do better with an expert's help. No pun intended.

This is the graphics card I had in mind...what do you think?

Which is why, I'm asking for a suggestion...forget the budget and tell me the graphics card you'd choose for the scenario...
