I'm posting this because the computer I built recently has killed multiple USB devices that have just stopped working after I plug them into this machines rear USB ports, I'm wondering if anyone knows if this is a problem with the motherboard or something else. What first alerted me to this problem was the fact that I saw sparks jumping from the rear I/O shield onto the USB plug itself.

Generally "sparks jumping from the rear I/O shield onto the USB plug" is not a good sign

what are you trying to plug into the ports that has caused this? does it happen with everything or is there a trend? I would legitimately stop using the ports and if you feel the need, get a new motherboard.

So far I have lost my razer headset, my mouse and a USB wifi card after plugging them into this computer but it seems that not everything I use on it dies as my other mouse and my external HDD seem to be fine, I have contacted the store that sold me the motherboard and I'm waiting for a reply on what do do regarding getting a replacement.

Remember that movie ABYSS? "... This Does Not Look Good At All."

A Mobo, you are blaming it, has at the most 12 volts, that should not be sufficient to cause a spark. On the other hand, a faulty PSU, bad case and/or house electrical wiring will and sure will destroy things, if not outright dangerous for the human. What's the current humidity and what kind of flooring you got?
