It has been 4-5 months since i brought my seagate expansion 1tb, But now my hard disk is showing many problems. Like when i insert the expansion into the pen drive slot, my PC recognizes the hard disk . But when i click on the H: drive, it shows this " You need to format the disk in H: before you can use it , do you want to format ? " Then i click on cancel button because there is about 700 GB of files in it , and i cannot format them. Then comes another dialog box saying " H:\ is not accessible. Data error (cyclic redundancy check). And then my windows explorer goes not responding . Please i need help in this kind of problem ! help me !
Thank u in advance :) :??:

"cyclic redundancy check" means the drive is probably failing. Can you run a scandisk on it. It could also be the electronics in the enclose itself. A last ditch effort to recover your file would be to remove the drive from the enclosure and connect it directly to the pc if it is a desktop. You can always buy an empty enclosure if it is that that is failing. very common.
