best cpu for 945GM ich6 rev 3.0 board

It's a chinese board and unbranded currently running e6600 c2d.. Does it support quad core? I can easily get cheap Q6600 or e8400

It's hard to tell without knowing the manufacturer but for what I see the 945GM chip-set does not support a quad core processor. I took it from Gigabyte so I'm not really sure, but you can check on the list here: http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Gigabyte/ it should be the same chip so it might apply.
