Can I connect to the Internet after restored to factory settings on laptop

I restored my HP Pavilion laptop a few days ago because of some viruses. I unfortunately can't connect to the Internet it says the cord is broken, not sure what to do can someone give me some pointers.

Check Device Manager for any errors to make sure your network cards are all working. How are you connecting to the router/modem? If wireless, did you connect it again? If with a cable, check to make sure it's plugged in properly and also try a different cable.
