Hey guys, I'm building a new gaming rig and I would like some information about the Z97 motherboards.

I am going for a black and red color scheme and not too pricey.

Mobos that I am considering: Asrock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer, Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 5, MSI Z97 Gaming 5, MSI Z97-G45 Gaming

P.S Dont need more than 2 PCIE slots and dont need more than 4 SATA Ports

Solution
You're going for a Z97 because you plan on overclocking or running multiple GPUs correct?

Personally, the ASRock Fatal1ty.

Yea I plan on buying and overclocking the i5-4690k. I am suprised you picked the asrock one because thats the cheapest one out of the four. That mobo is looking good though, the build is gonna be sick! Thanks mate :)

The Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 5 is awesome mate, if you can afford it go for it.

If you care about audio it comes with Soundblaster X-Fi.

The Fatal1ty (which I have) comes only with Realtek audio.

Better audio customisation on the Gigabyte board.

The Gigabyte seems good too, except from the audio thingy, have you encountered any other problems with your motherboard? Or maybe would you like it to have something more?

The price difference between the asrock one and the gigabyte one is like 20$

So, all I've ever heard is the QC issues with MSI. I haven't been able to find true results that prove that. Also, you don't want the Fatal1ty Z97 Killer. You want the Fatal1ty Z97X Killer. The non X only supports Crossfire. The X supports CF and SLI.

How much is your maximum budget specifically for the GPU?

You know what you can also do? Save more money and get Fatal1ty H97 Killer.

Did I say H97? Yes. You can overclock with the H97 Killer mobo like you could with a Z97 mobo.

Review with prove here:

And then get this GPU:

Asrock Fatal1ty H97 Killer - 131$

XFX Radeon R9 280X 3GB Double Dissipation Black Edition - 263$ seems like the best choice for me

The cheapest 290 I could find: Asus Radeon R9 290 4GB DirectCU II OC - 302$
the sapphire one costs 318$ for me

I don't have a budget for the GPU, I just want the most bang for my buck. The total PC budget is 800-1000$ though. And also, if you have any suggestions about a build, feel free to post it :)
