Getting BSOD After launching steam games

Sometimes my steam games will freeze and when i open up task manager i have to force close them. Whenever i try to restart them the game always causes a bsod. Specifcally skyrim, cod aw, and csgo. I cant figure out why it does this, and i really dont want to have to reinstall steam and download all my games again. I have steam installed to a folder on my desktop due to the way my skyrim modding is set up. Also the bsod says your display adapter has stopped working and hasn't recovered. It doesnt do this every time i launch the games, But it is a fairly frequent occurrence.
My specs
fx 8320 factory clock
R9 270 2gb saphire
kingston 8gb ram
windows 7 64bit
gigabyte 970A-UD3P mobo

  1. First this can be issue with divers use Driver Sweeper http://www.guru3d.com/content-page/guru3d-driver-sweeper.html
    and reinstall fresh GPU dirvers.
Second check temps on you GPU, if they go more than 80C you will need clean you GPU from dust or even reapply termal paste on GPU Core.
Do you try any OC on this GPU , or you buy this from second hand ?

It was a fresh gpu, got it for christmas. Also i play around with clock and fan speeds a little in msi afterburner, but never anything to crazy. Ill reinstall drivers and see what happens, also to my knowledge the temps never got to high. Whenver i checked they never reached 60C
