I was looking to buy a new hard drive.
I heard ssd are ~30% faster than hdd.
I found Normal 1Tb hhd with sata 3 -6gbps,32mb cache for cheap price and
Another 128gb ssd, sata 3 6gbps

My question is since they both are 6gbps sata 3 drives
Are There transfer Speeds same?

A SSD is about 3-5x faster at sequential read/writes.

A SSD is about 30-100x faster at random read/writes. That's where the vast majority of the speedup over a HDD comes from. It's why a virus scan running on a HDD makes the computer unusable, while you barely notice a virus scan running on a SSD. If you can queue the random read/writes, the SSD is up to 300x faster.

As others said... NOPE.

I will give you an example. I have a SATA 3 WD Velociraptor on my computer and even at it's top speed, it was no more than HALF the speed of an old SATA 2 SSD I used to have.

Some people say the will never go back to a mechanical drive again.. But I personally feel mechanical drives are still better to store media files and keep backups on... because it's a much cheaper solution if you have a lot of data.
