I built this PC and I wonder if it is good enough for modern day gaming with games such as DotA 2. Please tell me to change parts if I have to. (I'm on a budget)

Here is one for $420

That GPU you had is SUPER old and is not good for gaming anymore. also an APU with a GPU is not good either. This will offer WAY more performance and will be great for Dota. Also has a nice color scheme

why do you not use the system in question and go to system requirements lab for an analysis of your machine. it will review all the recommendations for any game against what your machine has.. alternatively, get the game and try it out..

Hi, you don't need an apu with integrated gpu, just choose the X4 860k. It's basically the A10 7850k, but without the integrated gpu.
I also recommend 8 gb ddr3 for ram, nowadays it's essential.
For the gpu I would recommend at least a 750 Ti, but if you can afford go with a R9 270x.

instead of a low end dual core Pentium go with an fx or Athlon quad core cpu. some games don't even start of dual cores these days.

He wont be running Farcry 4 on that anyway. He said that he wanted to play Dota. I was going for a low power and good performance per core kinda build.

The real killer is the price of the Pentium. At $65 dollars the closest thing to it on the AMD side would be X2 250, which is still a dual core and gets crushed by the Pentium. You can get an FX 4200 for $70 but then you will need a CPU cooler because the only ones on the market are OEM and come with no cooler. I wouldn't touch anything less than a FX-6300.
