So I will be buying a gaming PC within a few weeks to a month from now. I created a list of parts and I just want some advice on either better parts/making sure everything is compatible.

I am also trying to keep this as close to $1800 as possible with preferably a black and red colour scheme.

Here is the list: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/q4YJXL

I currently have a 1080p 144hz monitor and a spare copy of an os. I am also thinking of adding a second 970 later along with an extra monitor or 2(hence the large psu).
The main use of this pc will be gaming (AAA games, mmo's,) with surfing the internet, watching videos/movies etc. No video editing or anything heavy like that.

I also just wanted to know if it is worth getting thermal compound or if the pre-applied paste on the h100i is good enough? I probably won't overclock as soon as I get it but for sure down the line I will overclock up to 4-4.2ghz.

Thanks for the help :p

4 to 4.2 ghz is such a small OC the thermal paste is fine, you dont even need the h100i for that OC, so although i didnt edit it, just do yourself a favor and get a cheap air cooler like the cryorig h5 or h7. i dont like MSI mobos because they have bad quality control. also you can put an optical drive on that case but you can take the drive out if you dont need it.

I already have a optical drive laying around if I need it. What other motherboards would you recommend for around the same price as the msi one?
