Will Gigabyte GA-H81M-Gaming 3 support i3 4160 without BIOS update?

Will the Gigabyte GA-H81M-Gaming 3 support the Intel Core i3 4160 even without BIOS update? Or can you suggest a H81 or B85 board which support i3 4160 without BIOS update needed because I only have a limited budget that can afford B85 and H81 mobo. Thanks guys.

I would suggest a H97 mobo because that chipset is designed for Haswell refresh CPUs like the i3 4160.

The GIGABYTE GA-H97M-HD3 is only $74, and there are certainly cheaper mobos for the H97 chipset


If you have a budget gaming build, I would probably suggest AMD at this price range to sink more money into a GPU. Intel could be a good choice if you want to upgrade to a better cpu later on. If you're not gaming, you'll probably be fine with an i3 for normal tasks.
