i have a crucial ballistix sport 4gb 1333 mhz
this is no longer available but i want to add another stick of 4gb.
a kingston hyperx fury 4gb 1866mhz
can i mix the diff freq.
thanks
its not good to mix different RAM, and no you can't mix the speeds either. If it does run, and that is a big if, it will have to run at the same frequency and timings as the slower RAM.
I suggest just getting a new 8GB kit and not try mixing RAM.
Not a good pairing to even try and mix, the Fury operate off PnP so will try and automatically set themselves to 1866, good possiblity the rig won't even boot

okay so i found another ballistix sport but its 1600 mhz ,everything else is the same like volt n latency,
will it work?
All else being equal, the new memory might work with the existing memory. It depends whether the memory module characteristics are close enough to each other to allow compatible operation between the two modules.
If they work together, the modules will run at 1333 MHz by default.
