So, recently I bought an Optiplex 380 and stuffed an XFX Radeon 6670 inside of it to play my expanding steam library, but it seems that any game using Direct X 11 (CS:GO, Civ V, new CoD, Hawken)
will just randomly glitch.
----------------
By 'glitch', I mean that after about 20 minutes, it randomly just either:
CS:GO: Turns brown with browner bars for a few moments, then my monitor resets, then when the picture comes back it's just brown and cycling the same few moments of audio over and over, until I alt+Tab to the desktop, then alt+tab back to the game, and it seems to recover. Occasionally it will happen again, and when that happens the computer hangs.
Civ V: It just turns black. After I alt+tab to the desktop, there's an error saying something like 'Error: device_removed', and the game closes when I press ok.
Hawken: Pretty much the same as CS:GO, but instead of the screen turning brown with browner bars, it just drops the picture and the monitor reset.
----------------
Occasionally in CS:GO or Hawken, there will be a popup on the desktop saying "The graphics driver has crashed, but has recovered".
The reason I think it is a direct X 11 problem is because whenever I use a game using OpenGL or Direct X 9 there are no problems.
Here are my system specs:
Core 2 duo E7500
DELL motherboard, I dunno which.
XFX Radeon HD 6670 1GB.
4GB DDR3-1066 RAM.
I have already tried updating the BIOS, using old drivers, using the generic drivers, (Using the generic drivers had no problems, but did not allow me to use OpenGL), and nothing has worked. I am currently stuck with just dealing with it and constantly saving my games while playing, which is REALLY ANNOYING.
