Hey,
I built my first PC about 5 months ago.
It's a core I5-4670k on a z87 asrock motherboard and a msi gtx 970.
My friends now want me to build their gaming systems, but, because their budget are lower I normally go with a AMD Athlon II X4 860K Black Edition and a A88 motherboard, to save money for a good gpu.
The thing is I heard the socket is not good for cpus and that I should go with AM3+.
pls help

hi, I just wanted to know if the 860k is a good choice. The stats look very good for the money (quadcore, overclockable, and cheap). But nobody ever mentions the fm2+ socket when it comes to CPU's, it only seems to matter when it comes to APU´s.
Here's the build, more or less: http://es.pcpartpicker.com/p/KXM8kL
Also, there are no m-Itx motherboards and the microatx and atx ones are more expensive.
SO, is there any substancially better CPU on the am3+ side (for the money)? considering the trade offs i mentioned?

Thanks,
About the Pentium:
-Despite being 2 powerful cores, it's still a dual core so it will cripple multitasking performance and it wont even open games like far cry 4 and some others.
-In my country the Pentium is 10-15 euros cheaper than the 860k, the motherboard however are almosr 30 euros more expensive, specially the ITX ones.
But analyzing the list you sent me it is in fact the best for the money.
