Hello,

I've had this problem for over a year now and I've tried finding a solution several times but to no avail. I decided to try and see if there are any experts here who can save me from this nightmare.

So here's my pc's specs (Custom PC)
Water Cooling
Core i5 4690K @ 3.5GHz Quad Core
GTX 770 Windforce 2GB
8GB Ram
650W Power Supply
Windows 7 Ultimate

The problem: When playing Tera everything runs smoothly at max settings. Great 50-80fps almost everywhere I go except for the overcrowded towns. After about an hour (it's always in between 50-70 minutes) of playtime the game stutters erradically and fps drops below 20 and audio becomes distorted until the game completely freezes few minutes later. Only temporary solution is to force close the game and launch it again.

Solutions I've tried are:
Clean Boot, run CCCleaner, run malware and anti virus programs, update all my drivers, had my BIOS checked and updated, play on lower settings in game (still takes 50-70 mins to lag), uninstall and reinstall the game, update windows.

Things I've noticed when it starts lagging:
My CPU overloads (namely just the first core) and the second one is not so far behind but my other 2 cores are just fine. When I tab out the game everything else works fine, I open google chrome and watch a video on youtube to confirm it does not lag my entire pc. This kind of weird lag ONLY happens when playing Tera. I've played many many other games like League of Legends, Battlefield 3, several games from Steam and never had this lag issue.

Anyone expert enough to recognize this issue and possibly have a solution? Thanks!

Possibly your cpu is down-throtteling as thermal protection to prevent overheating.

What are your (hottest) core temps during that game? (Use afterburner to check as it has history or any other monitoring tool that retains max temp)
