I was planning on getting the intel-i5 4460 CPU but then I saw the intel-i5 4440 and it is a little bit cheaper. Would downgrading to the 4440 be worth it? My GPU is the GTX 960 and im also not looking to overclock.
it's not a night and day difference, there's like such a minimal difference it doesn't matter all that much. i guess since it is cheaper you should get the i5 4440, but it's personal preference.

Yeah, what TheNewGeek said: minimal amount of difference.
If the 4440 is just "a little bit" cheaper, you could also just go for the 4460.
You'll maybe have a tiny bit of extra performance.
Intel's Core i5 processors are well-known for their high-end gaming prowess at reasonable prices. The -4460 was short-lived on our list. This month, it's replaced by the Core i5-4590.
To begin, a temporary discount puts the -4590 at the same $190 price point as our previous pick. Even when that expires, though, the higher-end Core i5 gives you a higher base clock rate, even more Turbo Boost headroom and a number of features the -4460 doesn't support. For an additional $10, it'd be hard to go wrong with the Core i5-4590.
