Hello, I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction in terms of cooling for a GPU. I currently have a Coolermaster evo 212 for my FX8350 and that seems to be doing really well. but when it comes to my GPU which I am running a Powercolor Radeon HD 7970 925MHZ 3GB 5.5GHZ. so it does seem to do the job, but I keep getting dropped frames when I play titles such as a crysis or CoD on high or max. I feel as if it is the temperature that is causing this.

so if anyone can help me out with keeping my GPU cooled. I would much appreciate it.

PS. my case is Zalman Z11 Plus Mid Tower ATX Case

Hi,
First of all, have you cleaned the GPU in recent time?
Second, if the GPU has been cleaned, try applying new thermal paste to the GPU.
Third, if the changing paste is too much of a hustle, check the case fans, replace them with new one that have better airflow.

Hey thanks to replying. I have cleaned it out pretty well but it still does get heated up pretty fast. just a question. so there is no aftermarket heatsinks for GPU? the only option is to adjust and increase airflow to cool it down?

Sorry i forgot to ask you, what temps are you getting when you play Crysis or COD, and is your 7970 overclocked?
