Hi there, I've just built a computer with a Maximus vii Ranger LGA1150, with a intel i7-4790k. This is being cooled but a liquid cooled corsair h80i GT. when i first turn it on it runs fine at around 25-30 degrees, but if i turn it off and turn it back on again after about 5-10 mins it goes up to 88 degrees. Ive Reapplied the thermal paste and even put rubber washers on the fixings on the brackets so that there is no play in the cpu cooler, but still over heats, any suggestions ??

If you are using Corsair Link SW, I'd check your pump's rpm and see if its dropping at some point. Quiet mode should be running around 2000rpm and 3000rpm in Performance mode. Those rpms in each mode should be constant and steady, they shouldn't be any huge fluctuations.
