Purchasing a new router for the house. We have a separate party rm with separate direct tv with no internet.

Hard to say. If you have a weak signal maybe if you get lucky a different router will help. Most routers transmit at the legal maximum power so that alone would not help but some routers work better in some houses for unknown reasons. This is why you get such huge difference of opinion on reviews.
If you have no signal at all from your current router it is highly unlikely a different router will be that much better.
100ft is generally the maximum recommended distance to use a router when it is used inside a house.
You can look at powerline devices which may work. If all else fails you can put in a wifi repeater 1/2 between the current router and the room but a repeater causes a huge slowdown in the connection so you want to use it as a last option when nothing else works.

100 feet is even a limit of wired cables. But they now have many devices called Wi-fi extenders. You can research on the internet.

oh yes my bad. I've had issue with that since I support timeclocks in an HR application. Whne that distance is exceed we had up and down connections.
