I have searched and searched for the answer to this question. I have not found an answer. It seems that in most cases the gtx 980 in sli outperforms the titan x. However, my question is this:
for a triple pg278q setup what card would give me the best performance?

Really, for 3 1440p 144hz monitors? I thought that would take a lot of memory. I'm planning to run everything as maxed out as possible with games such as gta v to arma 3 to far cry 4.

That would be overkill m8 sorry. I saw a video where a guy ran gta v on a single gtx 980 on a triple 1080p monitor setup at good frame. However, I have not found a logical answer to 1440p as not many peeps have it, let alone triple setup.

All I'm asking is whether anyone actually knows from a benchmark or something like that which card would be better for 3 1440p monitors. 24Gb is something we will never properly see being used in like 4 years.

I said that because you said you wanted to run gta v with the highest settings possible with 60fps+ and I think you would need sli titan x's to achieve that, but between sli 980's and a single titan x the 980 sli is more powerful.

VRAM does not stack in multi graphic card setups. Some games are already using more than 4GB of VRAM and the higher the resolution you go the more VRAM that is used. If you have the money your probably better off with the titan X and then grab a second one down the road. What your looking for isn't going to come cheap that is for sure.

but when i play gta v on medium (trimonitors)setting it laggs alot ( 30 fps max )
when i play on 1 monitor (1920*1080) it runs on full rez 60 fps ..

should i upgrade to a SOLO vga TITAN X (12gb) or gtx 980 matrix (4gb) or its not woth it ??

You'll need a card with definitely more than 4gb of VRAM, especially the 970's 3.5gb or VRAM wont do, so the 960, 970 and 980 aren't options, even in SLI, but two, maybe one 980Ti would work alot better, in computex acer had three UQHD monitors with 980 Ti's, and they were 1440x3440x3, so alot harder to run than 1440x2560x3.

If I were you I would go for a 980Ti, Hybrid edition for overclocking, but if your don't want to the MSI edition is always good for all graphics cards!
