Hello guys.

I am having issues with running the Memory in quad channel
as I want them to be installed in ((A1 B1 C1 D1)) slots
and that throws b7 error. But they work if I put the modules
in (A1 B2 C1 D1) slots.

Firmware is also updated to 1.80.

How do I know that the RAM modules or the motherboard has the issue?

System:
ASRock Fatal1ty X99X Killer LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 Motherboard.

Intel Core i7-5820K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.3GHz Cpu.

16GB G.Skill Ripjaws 4 DDR4 2400MHz PC4-19200 CL14 Intel X99 Quad Channel kit (4x4GB) Black Heatsinks.

Corsair Hydro Series H110 280 mm High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler.

x2 of Samsung 850 Pro 256GB 2.5-Inch SSD.

Thank you very much.

Solution
Pins look ok. I suggest testing the board outside the case, with single RAM stick. If red slots still not working, I suggest RMA-ing both motherboard and CPU.

First of all.. Thank you very much Alexoiu for the fast reply.

I've checked all slots with single ram
it works only in A1 D1 C1
not working in B1
not working as single in the red slots either.

Hi,
I'm Davis from ASRock HQ TSD.

According to the information you posted, the debug code shows b7, after installing memory on A1, B1, C1, D1 DIMM.
We provide few ways for you to verify.
1.Please refer below link to clear CMOS and using BIOS default setting. http://
2.Please re-install CPU, memory and check whether them installed correctly.
3.Due to the memory is controlled by CPU, please check whether the pins bent in CPU socket.
4.If you have another suitable CPU and memory, please change them for verify.
If the symptom still exist, please refer below link to contact local distributor or dealer for further physical checking.
http://

Thanks a lot !!

Sadly it is not working outside..
Most likely I should RMA the motherboard and the CPU
