Upgrading my GPU soon, should i upgrade my cpu aswell ?

My AMD R7870 is due an upgrade as one of the fans died on me today and its showing its age in newer games. i have an AMD FX 8320 running at 4.0Ghz overclock. Im looking to upgrade to a R9290X . Will my cpu bottleneck the newer card or could i get away with keeping the cpu ?

If you can hold off on the upgrade till june, AMD will be releasing their new GPU lineup, which will drop the price of the r9 290x considerably. You can either opt to go for the same GPU you already have chosen, or you may see something in the new lineup that you like better.

As for your bottleneck question, the answer is no. Your fx 8320 is fine for that gpu, especially if you overclock the 8320.
