hey there. I have the same problem. When I shut down yesterday my HP Pavilion DV6 with WIN7 OS , I couldn't turn it on today. after welcome logo, there was blue screen with error code stop:0x0000007B, then it goes on restart and the same again and again. I've tryed startup repair but it doesn't helped too. at once I canged bios options to factory defaults and it warked - my laptop turned on, but I knew that I had to reinstall my windows7 OS and changed in bios options first boot order to DVD ROM. everything was going ok, but after first restart (wich works automatically) it didn't started up, it hangs on HP logo and I can't do anything. I moved HDD in my another PC and CONTINUED windows installation there. it's working there, but not on HP Pavilion DV6. the laptop keeps hanging on the same logo.

can anyone halpe me?
my oportunity and any ideas are already useless :(

thanks to all.

Hey there, SGT500!

Seems like a pretty unfortunate and annoying situation. Good job with the troubleshooting steps you've taken so far. I guess one thing you can try to fix this is updating (flashing) BIOS. You can refer to this tutorial for a step-by-step: http://www.7tutorials.com/how-update-bios-your-computers-motherboard-5-steps
However, I strongly recommend being very careful with it because some fatal mistakes can lead to corruption of the motherboard's firmware.

I'm not sure if you've tried running the fixmbr \Device\HardDisk0 command from the Command prompt using your Windows System Recovery/Installation media.

Keep me posted. Hope this helps!

thank you for attention. I thought so, but I hadn't done that yet. I read all the tutorial wich you have adviced, but... when I press the turn on button, PC is hanging on HP logo, I can't access in BIOS, or in CLI and etc. It has no reaction, only the ctrl + alt + del combination works and it goes on restart :D how can I get BIOS version information in such situation?

PS. I haven't tried such comand fixmbr \Device\HardDisk0.

As for the fixmbr command, I believe this tutorial might shed some light on the matter: http://www.7tutorials.com/command-prompt-fix-issues-your-boot-records

Keep me updated with the troubleshooting! :)
