As stated above I recently purchased a new PSU (CORSAIR AX series CP-9020045-NA/RF 760W ATX12V). Everything went well until I put my computer to sleep. When I click the mouse or hit a button on the keyboard I head the fans try to click over and the lights on my keyboard/mouse come on. I have seen others with this issue but I haven't found any suggestions that work for me. I have updated all the drivers I can think of all my bios settings are set to default I have tried unplugging all of my usbs and tried to wake it up still no luck. I have an ASUS P6X58D Premium Motherboard. The only way to bring it back is to hold the power button to power it off and the power it on I end up with a resuming windows screen. Any suggestions would be much appreciated

Some CPU have an enhanced halt state so low in amps that some PSUs can't give out that low level amperage and they just shut down instead of sleeping. Which CPU are you using? You can disable the enhanced halt states in moitherboard.

I have an i7 I believe it is the 920. I didn't see anything like that in the BIOS but I will check when I get home.

In the motherboard the options would be called C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6, C7. Disable them all !!

Don't think all of these are necessary, the first four/five should be able to stay enabled. The last two are for deep sleep states if i'm correct. Is a haswell thing too,but worth a shot. You can always enable one at a time and see where the problem starts.

What happens when you push the power button when this happens? Not to force a shut down, but like when you start the pc.

Nothing. It still sits in sleep mode.

Update: I have tried setting my computer to high performance that was unsuccessful. I came across a few things in the BIOS that caught by eye. The first was C1E support. I tried to disable it didn't help. Next was the C state package limit and 2 options under that C1 auto Demotion and C3 auto Demotion I really wasn't sure what if anything to change here. The last couple things that caught my eye and I have no idea if this helps anything is Suspend Mode ACPI state and ACPI 2.0 support. Hope any of this will spark some ideas from you guys. I really appreciate all the feedback so far this is driving me crazy.

One more note I noticed when I turn off my computer after being in sleep mode and turn it back on everything fires up but nothing loads up on the screen it isn't until I cycle the power or hit the reset button that everything seems to work again.

the C state package limit and C1 auto Demotion and C3 auto Demotion... disable them that should solve it. are exactly what I was talking about earlier here
In the motherboard the options would be called C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6, C7. Disable them all !!

Don't change anything in Suspend Mode ACPI state and ACPI 2.0 support just yet. Here take a look at this link:

I disabled them last night but with little luck. There is another option under the C state package limit. Tho I'm drawing a blank as to what it's title was It had 4 options AUTO, C1, C3, and C6. I tried AUTO, C1, and C3. When I switched it to C3 I was able to wake my computer up on 2 back to back occasions however this morning after my computer was asleep all night I was not able to wake it up. I rebooted tried to put my pc in sleep mode and wake it up after a few seconds and still didn't wake up.
