Hi all, im pretty new to making computers but just yesterday I built my own pc. The components are as follows:

ASRock 270-PRO3 R2.0 Motherbord
EVGA GeFirce GTX 960 SSC ACX +2.0 2GB
Kingston SSDNow V300 240gb SSD (I installed windows onto the SSD) (windows 7 ultimate x64 bit)
CoolerMaster 750w 80 plus gold power supply
G.Skill Ripjaws X F3-14900CL10D- 16GB
Seagate Barracuda 2tb HardDrive (Set up as storage drive)

So the issue I'm having is that upon installation of windows I booted up and everything was working, but then I would randomly get a frozen screen and BSOD when attempting to install the CD drivers I got with my components.

The strange thing is I left the computer on overnight last night downloading some games off steam, and it didn't crash or freeze once, it was still running in the morning. Also when I would try and start up a steam game (CS:go) it would show that I am in-game and the game is running but I wouldn't be able to access the game at all. It would also randomly crash when I start up the game, sometimes right on the boot of the game and other times it would run for maybe 30 mins and just randomly get blue scree, also sometimes the game juts crashes and the computer keeps running.

I would get these messages and screens.

(EDIT 1):

Just got this screen before, after trying to run Arma 2:

(EDIT 2):

Tried a Windows 7 x64 bit re-install, everything was working smoothly, installed all drivers etc and started running a game.. then got this blue screen error code: STOP: 0x0000000A

(EDIT 3):

Computer started running fine, opened Cs:go and Arma 2 , were running smoothly. Then random BSOD and error message (was also installing AVG antivirus at the time) :

(EDIT 5):

So I tried removing one ram chip and then the other and it still crashes with both. Ran Windows Memory Diagnostic and apparently all is ok with memory. Formatted both my SSD and HDD, reinstalled windows twice off the same install USB I did the first install off and still getting freezes and blue screen.

Could it be the windows ISO that I am installing could be corrupt or something?..

Otherwise not sure what to do, I could take apart the computer and test all the parts individually

Also I have ran the computer in safe mode and used it for a while, it crashed and I got a blue screen again.. So it could be a hardware problem?

Do I have to install new drivers? Are my components faulty? Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

your system is running windows build 7600 ie windows 7 RTM.
you need to run windows 7 sp1 before any current version of a graphics driver will work correctly. Also be sure to update your network drivers or nvidia GPU and antivirus programs will have issues.

hey mate, how sure are you about this, because I have actually taken apart the whole computer and to test this i would have to put it all together again..

your build number was indicated on one of the photos. build 7600 is windows 7 RTM that came out in 2009
build 7601 would be windows 7 sp1. Window 7 RTM will start crashing if you run a current version of a graphics card because the graphics driver no longer works around the old bugs in windows 7 RTM.

I can not be sure which bug you hit with out looking at the actual memory dump files but if you don't have the sp 1 installed you will get various bugchecks related to graphics because of how windows was incorrectly making a buffer in the graphics driver for background screen updates.

Hello everyone. Turns out my issue all along was actually that the CPU was not compatible with my Motherboard and that it was drawing too much power from the mobo... So all that testing etc was unnecessary, it didnt say anywhere on the mobo description that it was not compatible, only when i contacted my retailer they told me it was incompatible :(.. oh well at least i fixed my issue. Thanks for the help!
